
Oil prices fall despite Hesgeth's promise of even bigger strikes on Iran

A drop in oil prices slowed after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth warned the day would be America's "most intense day of strikes inside Iran."
A sharp drop in oil prices continued Tuesday morning, even after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the day would see America’s “most intense day of strikes inside Iran."
U.S. crude oil fell more than 11% to as low as $83.01 per barrel. International Brent crude also dropped 10% to as low as $87.30.
Still, U.S. crude oil prices are up more than 23% since the start of the war.
Meanwhile, stocks rose. The S&P 500 jumped 0.3% in early trading, while the Nasdaq Composite was traded higher by 0.6% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average popped 200 points.
On Tuesday morning, Abu Dhabi said that authorities were dealing with a fire that broke out at its Ruwais Industrial Complex, "caused by a drone strike." Ruwais is the location of one of the largest refineries in the United Arab Emirates, and can process more than 900,000 barrels of oil per day. It is now reportedly halted.
