Fox News
NYPD Sergeant Erik Duran convicted of manslaughter for fatally throwing cooler at Eric Duprey during 2023 drug bust, in historic first on-duty killing conviction.
Michael Dorgan is a writer for Fox News Digital and Fox Business.
Duran became the first NYPD officer found guilty of a crime for killing someone while on duty in New York City in a decade, the Post reported. He faces up to 15 years in prison and is scheduled to be sentenced on March 19. You can send tips to michael.dorgan@fox.com and follow him on Twitter @M_Dorgan.
The case was decided by a judge rather than a jury after Duran waived his right to a jury trial.
