Everyone who works in schools or health care in Nova Scotia must be double-vaccinated for COVID-19 by November 30, the province announced Wednesday.
All employees of Nova Scotia Health, EHS, the IWK children's hospital, long-term care facilities and home-care services are included in the mandate, along with teachers at schools and pre-primary programs, staff at regional centres for education, and education service staff including bus drivers, cleaners and lunch monitors.
After Nov. 30, anyone who is not fully vaccinated will be placed on unpaid administrative leave and could face eventual termination. All new hires must have proof of double vaccination.
