
MoI to organise two virtual seminars this week

The Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Interior is all set to organise two virtual awareness seminars this week. The first seminar for the leaders and representatives of the expatriate communities in Qatar entitled ‘How to Prevent Cyber and Financial Crimes’ in association with Financial and Cyber Crimes Prevention Department of the Ministry of Interior will be held virtually through Zoom video conferencing application at 6:30pm tomorrow (March 24). During this seminar, officers from the Financial and Cyber Crimes Prevention Department of the Ministry of Interior will be sharing information related with cyber-crimes and its prevention such as types of cybercrimes, punishments and penalties for the offenders, cybercrime law of Qatar, punishments for photographing accidents, methods of prevention, cyber blackmailing and its punishments, security of ID and credit Cards, protection of emails from theft and piracy, cyber phishing, securing online accounts, how to deal with unknown and fraudulent messages and security of websites. The second virtual seminar entitled ‘Prevention is Better than Cure’ is organised in collaboration with Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and will be held virtually on Thursday, March 25 at 10am. The targeted audience of this seminar is HR & admin managers, finance managers, safety and security in charges, PROs and camp bosses of the companies and community representatives and the admission to Zoom meeting is restricted for 1000 persons only on the first come first serve basis. Presenting the seminar, the officers from the CID will speak about the functions, services and duties of the CID, sense of security, Covid protocols, importance of securing vehicles, houses, companies, residential complexes and companies accommodations, precautionary measures while withdrawing and transporting money and valuables, protection of the ID cards, Metrash2 service for filing complaints, security of buildings under construction, securing personal belongings at the accommodations of the companies and while using public transports, punishment for begging, precautionary measures while purchasing used items, impersonation of police, photography and filming in the public places and punishments of some crimes.More Related News
