Mississippi primary election results: Latest on House and Senate races
USA TODAY
A US Senate seat and the state's entire House coalition are up for grabs.
Results are in after a busy election day in Mississippi.
Democratic and Republican voters cast ballots on Tuesday, March 10, in a Congressional primary to determine which candidates will get on the ballot in the November 2026 midterm elections. The race has the potential to make national waves: The GOP holds on to Congress by increasingly fewer and fewer seats, and Mississippi has House and Senate positions up for grabs.
Here are the results so far and what they mean for November's midterms.
In the primary, voters choose which candidates head to a November race to represent Mississippi in Washington.
There are plenty of names in the mix: One of the state's two U.S. Senate seats is up for reelection, meaning the balance of power in the chamber could shift further if the seat were to flip blue. Mississippi voters are also choosing candidates across the state's entire roster in the U.S. House of Representatives, where Trump's second-term policy agenda hangs in the political balance.
