Minnesota Police Respond To Shooting At Catholic School During Mass

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey said he’s monitoring the “reports of horrific violence.”
Minnesota police are on the scene of a shooting at a Catholic school in Minneapolis, Gov. Tim Walz said.
“I’m praying for our kids and teachers whose first week of school was marred by this horrific act of violence,” Walz said.
The City of Minneapolis said in a public safety alert that by 9:30 a.m. local time, the shooter had been “contained” and there was no longer an active threat to the community.
Minneapolis police told KARE11 the shooting took place at Annunciation Church and that there are “a significant number of victims,” including children.
The school serves students from pre-K through eighth grade, according to its Facebook page, and celebrated its first day of the new school year on Monday.
