Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has concluded its annual sports tournament for students of Quran Teaching Centres for 2025, following weeks of competitive and educational activities that brought together students from across the country.
The tournament, which kicked off on December 12 and ran until December 30, was held at the Ministry’s football pitches in Abu Hamour. A total of 32 sports teams representing Quran centres affiliated with the Ministry from various regions of the state took part in the event.
The tournament aimed to instil educational and moral values among participating students by promoting positive behaviour, teamwork and discipline. It also sought to renew student activities by breaking routine through diverse programmes, enhancing motivation to learn, increasing students’ engagement with Quran centres, and encouraging them to continue memorising and revising the Holy Quran.
The competition witnessed strong and spirited performances that reflected a high level of cooperation and positivity among students. Participating teams demonstrated outstanding athletic performance alongside exemplary sportsmanship and ethical conduct, in an atmosphere marked by brotherhood, mutual respect and affection among students of the Quran centres.
During the closing ceremony, the winning team was crowned amid joyful celebrations by students and attendees.
