Mike Williams gets Jets go-ahead for season opener against 49ers
NY Post
Mike Williams is ready to go.
The Jets wide receiver returned to team drills this week and coach Robert Saleh said Thursday that Williams will play in the team’s opener against the 49ers on Sept. 9.
“It feels good. It’s what I expected,” Williams said of being ready. “I was putting the work in this whole time to make myself available to perform this season. It’s all paying off at the right time.”
Williams tore his left ACL last September when he was playing for the Chargers and missed the rest of the 2023 season.
The Jets signed Williams in March to a one-year, $10 million contract.
Williams spent the offseason rehabbing his knee, then returned to practice on a limited basis a few weeks ago.

SAN DIEGO — As you may have seen elsewhere in this newspaper (and also if you haven’t deleted me yet from your social media), I have a book coming out Tuesday called “The Bosses of The Bronx.” Much of it details the 37 years’ worth of antics, winning, losing, winning again and overall mania of George Steinbrenner’s time with the Yankees.
