Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has unveiled a set of six draft national policies aimed at accelerating Qatar’s digital economy and strengthening its digital transformation framework, inviting public and stakeholder feedback through the ‘Sharek’ platform as part of its efforts to build a future-ready, inclusive, and innovation-driven ecosystem.

According to MCIT statements shared through its official X account and website, the consultation forms part of the ongoing efforts to develop an integrated national policy framework that supports digital transformation, revitalising the economy, and enhances regulatory environments in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 (QNV).

The Ministry emphasised that public participation will help refine more effective and forward-looking digital policies, contribute to stronger regulatory frameworks, and support the development of a sustainable digital ecosystem that benefits society and the economy over the long term.

Among the draft policies open for consultation is the Regulatory Sandbox Policy, which aims to establish a national framework for designing, implementing, and overseeing regulatory sandboxes in Qatar. Built on three core pillars, including regulatory environment, institutional capacity, and sector development, the policy seeks to create an enabling environment for regulatory innovation while ensuring effective supervision.

MCIT is also seeking input on the Lifelong Learning for Digital Skills Policy, which sets out a national framework to enable individuals to continuously develop digital competencies throughout their lives. The policy outlines digital skills pathways spanning early education to advanced professional training.
