India's 16-member badminton squad left for USA to compete in the BWF World Junior Championships. The squad features Odisha Open 2022 champion Unnati Hooda and two-time U-19 All India Junior Ranking champion Ayush Shetty. The 3-week training camp was aimed at strengthening skills and team bonding. The tournament will start with team events from Sep 25-30 and singles' events from Oct 2-8. India are in Group D with Germany, Brazil, Cook Islands and Dominican Republic. Last year, S Sankar Muthusamy Subramanian won silver in boys' singles.

Kochi's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium is home to Kerala Blasters, the most popular club in the Indian Super League. Despite the amazing atmosphere, AFC General Secretary Datuk Seri Windsor John believes the stadium is a recipe for disaster. He expressed concerns about the lack of infrastructure, including security, and the stadium's location in the heart of the city. John suggested Kerala should build a football-only stadium to meet safety and security regulations. He also noted the passion of the fans and the need for a stadium that meets international standards.

Marco Bezzecchi (VR46 Racing) took pole position for the inaugural Indian Grand Prix MotoGP race, 0.043 seconds ahead of Jorge Martin (Pramac Racing). Ducati bikes filled the top-four spots, with championship leader Francesco Bagnaia third and Luca Marini fourth. Repsol Honda riders Joan Mir and Marc Marquez followed in fifth and sixth. Alex Marquez (Gresini Racing) crashed in Q1, suffering three broken ribs. Brad Binder (KTM Factory Racing) failed to qualify in the top-two in Q1. Sunday's race will see only 20 riders take the start.
