
Man in custody after suspected arson at federal government office building: Toronto police

Toronto police said a man is in custody in connection with a suspected arson at a federal government office building in North York Monday.
Police said officers responded to a call about a fire in the third floor cafeteria of a building at Yonge Street and Elmhurst Avenue.
Toronto Fire told CBC Toronto they responded to 4900 Yonge St. shortly after 11 a.m. Toronto Fire said the blaze was put out in about an hour. Crews were expected to remain on scene during the investigation.
Toronto police said in an email a woman in her 30s was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
In a statement, Toronto police told CBC the man in custody is 55-years-old. His identity has not been released at this time.
The fire is affecting some services at the building, including the passport office. The building's website said that office is expected to be closed until at least 4 p.m. on Monday.
