CBC
The Regina Fire department and police say they found a man dead inside a Regina home while responding to an early morning house fire.
Crews arrived at the North Central home, on Wascana Street near Pasqua Park at 5:28 a.m. CST, according to an agency post on X.
The fire was under control within an hour.
Regina Fire said crews searched the home, finding one person, and no other injuries were reported.
A fire investigator was on scene early Sunday morning, it said.
Regina Police and Regina Fire have not said if the death and fire are suspicious.
According to a City of Regina news release, the fire department, Regina Police and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service are "conducting a joint investigation to determine the cause and details surrounding the fire and casualty."
Police say the man has been identified and next of kin has been notified.
Regina Police are asking anyone with information to contact them or Regina Crimes Stoppers.
