A man in his 30s has died after he was hit by a driver while walking in Toronto on Thursday afternoon, police say.
The collision happened on Danforth Avenue at St. Dunstan Drive, east of Victoria Park Avenue, Toronto police say. Officers were called to the scene shortly before 2 p.m.
Paramedics rushed the man to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he was later pronounced dead.
Police say the vehicle remained at the scene.
Motorists should expect road closures in the area.

Calgary police say they will have an increased presence at the city's official menorah lighting ceremony Monday, after at least 15 people were killed in an attack at a Hanukkah event at Sydney's Bondi Beach. "The Calgary Police Service has increased patrols around synagogues and at local Hanukkah events, including at tomorrow's menorah lighting at city hall," a police statement said.
