A man in his 80s is dead following a fire at a North York retirement residence, according to first responders.
The fire started around 10:20 p.m. on Sunday night at a retirement building on Finch Avenue West, Toronto Fire said.
One elderly man was taken to the hospital in critical condition, according to paramedics, and was later pronounced dead.
The fire is now out and the building is being ventilated, according to fire services. Investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.
