Man confesses to killing 7-year-old while on the lam after DNA links him to 30-year cold case: authorities

DNA evidence solves a 30-year-old cold case of Morgan Jade Violi's killing in Kentucky. Former escaped fugitive Robert Scott Froberg was charged after a forensic breakthrough.

"They’ve waited far too long for answers."

Froberg, who was already in the Alabama prison system, was charged Thursday with kidnapping resulting in death, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky Kyle G. Bumgarner said at a press conference Friday.

"Morgan’s kidnapping and murder changed her family’s life forever," Bumgarner said.
