A 37-year-old mother of four has been identified as the person who was found dead east of London's downtown core last week.
The body of Jessica Rose Bakker was found by a member of the public near King and Maitland streets around 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 17, police said in a statement.
The investigation into Bakker's death remains ongoing, but police said on Monday that a 55-year-old man had been charged with one count of improper/indecent interference with a dead body.
Police didn't state whether Bakker and the accused knew each other, and no charges have been laid in direct connection with her death. The 55-year-old had a scheduled court date on Monday.
"Investigators are asking anyone who may have interacted with Jessica Rose Bakker since February 1, 2026, to contact the LPS Major Crime Section," police said in a statement.
"Even the smallest piece of information could be vital to this investigation."
A brief obituary for Bakker, posted to the website of Denning's of Forest Funeral Home, says Bakker was a mother to four children and was a "loving niece, cousin and friend to many."
A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday afternoon at Kettle Point United Church, with burial at Kettle Point Cemetery, the obituary says.
