Man arrested in connection with Whitehorse Millennium Trail attack

Yukon RCMP have arrested a man accused of attacking a woman jogging on the Millennium Trail in Whitehorse on Saturday morning.
RCMP charged a 20-year-old man with sexual assault and assault causing bodily harm.
In a news release, RCMP say a man was sitting on a bench on the trail near the Robert Service campground. A woman noticed that when she jogged past him, he got up to jog behind her.
The woman stopped to ask if he needed something and he began punching her in the face and threw her to the ground, the RCMP said.
The woman screamed and fought off the man, who ran away, the RCMP said.
The man remains in custody and will appear in court Monday in Whitehorse.
