A 32-year-old man faces drug and firearms charges following a three-month investigation by Northwest Territories RCMP.
Police say a tip from the homeowner led officers to suspected crack-cocaine in the bedroom of a home in Fort Providence, N.W.T., on Oct. 8.
They say they executed a search warrant that allegedly yielded a sawed-off rifle, several long guns, a ballistic vest, about 56 grams of crack cocaine, more than 130 codeine tablets and other drug trafficking paraphernalia.
The man from Fort Providence faces two counts of trafficking a controlled substance, two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition without licence, and possession of a firearm while knowing possession is unauthorized.
Following a bail hearing, police say the man was sent to jail.
He is scheduled for a court appearance on Jan. 13, 2026.
