Doha, Qatar: Malabar Gold & Diamonds, the fifth largest jewellery retailer globally with over 400 showrooms across 13 countries organised a blood donation drive at its showroom in Barwa village in association with Hamad Medical corporation.
The blood donation drive was conducted by the brand’s ESG wing with the intention of bringing a significant difference to society by spreading the importance of blood donation.
The main objective of this initiative is to raise awareness among the residents in Qatar about the importance of blood donation and to encourage maximum people to donate blood with the support of Hamad Medical Corporation. According to WHO, the need for blood is rising in all parts of the world and someone in the world needs blood every second. One donation can help to save the lives of up to three people.
Malabar Gold & Diamonds encouraged their staff to be a part of this humanitarian effort for the wellbeing of the community. The programme drew very good response from the public and 59 donors, including 15 staff members from Malabar Gold & Diamonds participated in the blood donation drive to support this cause.
