Knicks to sign veteran P.J. Tucker to 10-day contract for gritty depth
NY Post
LOS ANGELES — The Knicks are bringing a tough, veteran NBA champion into the mix.
P.J. Tucker, 39 years old, plans to sign a 10-day contract with the Knicks, league sources confirmed Saturday.
New York’s attraction to Tucker, who hasn’t played this season, is rooted in his experience and enforcer mentality, a source said.
Tucker’s game has certainly diminished from his 3-and-D wing prowess with the Rockets, so it’s unclear if he’ll help on the court, but he’s always provided a tough and hard-nosed presence to his teams.
He is a free agent after being waived by the Raptors, who acquired Tucker as a salary filler in a deadline deal.
Tucker has only played 31 games the past two seasons. He started this campaign with the Clippers, but both sides agreed he could leave the team while they worked out a relocation.

SAN DIEGO — As you may have seen elsewhere in this newspaper (and also if you haven’t deleted me yet from your social media), I have a book coming out Tuesday called “The Bosses of The Bronx.” Much of it details the 37 years’ worth of antics, winning, losing, winning again and overall mania of George Steinbrenner’s time with the Yankees.
