Kishan Reddy requests Telangana CM to resolve Amberpet Flyover service road issues for improved commuter access.
Union Minister for Coal & Mines and Secunderabad MP, G. Kishan Reddy has urged Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to intervene and resolve issues related to the construction of the service road under the newly built Amberpet Flyover.
In a public communication to the Chief Minister, Mr. Kishan Reddy explained that the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) constructed a 1.5‑km, four‑lane flyover at Amberpet crossroads on NH‑163 (formerly NH‑202) at a cost of ₹265 crore.

The flyover, inaugurated on May 5, 2025, by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, in the presence of Telangana ministers including Roads & Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, is operational; however, the required land acquisition for the service road beneath it is still pending, he said.
The delay in completing land acquisition has caused significant inconvenience to commuters on this key corridor, despite the project being sanctioned in 2018. The issue had previously been brought to the notice of the Chief Minister, and Mr. Gadkari himself had raised the matter with State authorities multiple times, the Union Minister noted.
Mr. Kishan Reddy said the matter was also taken up with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner and other officials, but it remained unresolved even though ₹2.54 crore was already paid as compensation for land acquisition. He requested Mr. Revanth Reddy to direct the R&B, GHMC and other departments concerned to coordinate and remove bottlenecks to enable the widening and completion of the service road.

Bulrushes in wetlands are not encroachments, but ‘legal homes’ to birds in the crake and rail family and warblers, so government line agencies ought to tread on them thoughtfully
