
Kings County woman dies following pedestrian collision in Montague

A 75-year-old Kings County woman has died following a pedestrian collision involving a semi-tractor trailer in Montague.
In a news release, RCMP say the incident happened Friday around 1:30 p.m. in a parking lot near the Superstore. Police responded along with Island EMS and the Montague Fire Department.
Police gathered statements from witnesses and a traffic reconstructionist was called to the scene, according to the RCMP.
The RCMP say the woman was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown following the collision and was later transferred to the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Halifax. Police say on Saturday morning the Halifax Coroner's Officer informed P.E.I. RCMP that the woman had died.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
