JD Vance Rips Democrats Who Showed ‘Cowardice’ For Sitting During 1 Trump SOTU Moment

“They were all looking around for cues from their colleagues because they didn't have the courage to stand on their own," Vance said.
Vice President JD Vance slammed Democrats who attended President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address Tuesday, but did not stand up when he called on lawmakers to display an endorsement of his statement about protecting American citizens instead of undocumented immigrants.
“Well, I saw a couple of things, Bill — first of all, obviously most Democrats didn’t stand up or clap, and what a shame that is,” Vance told ”America’s Newsroom” anchor Bill Hemmer on Fox News Wednesday.
The president delivered the longest State of the Union address Tuesday night, where he made several false claims, including, but not limited to, falling prices, ending wars and the success of his tariffs.
Democrats who opted out of the alternative “People’s State of the Union” counterprogram to attend Trump’s speech faced the president’s disapproval.
At one point in his 108-minute speech, Trump told the room he’s “ inviting every legislature to join with my administration in reaffirming a fundamental principle — if you agree with this statement, then stand up and show your support.”
