Jaxson Dart’s concussion absence needs to be a lesson for QB — and the Giants
NY Post
Seeing Jaxson Dart on the sideline was a jarring reminder of how fragile this can all be.
It was a sight the Giants cannot tolerate, cannot duplicate and cannot replicate again this season, for the sake of all concerned.
And, by all concerned, we mean everyone — front office, coaches, ownership, teammates.
Injuries happen, and sometimes there is no way to avoid them. Cam Skattebo never met a collision he tried to avoid and yet there was nothing the high-octane rookie running back could do in Week 8 in Philadelphia to prevent his ankle from getting dislocated, sending him into surgery. With Dart, repeated hits sent him into the blue medical tent four times in his first seven NFL starts, and what was revealed in that fourth visit put him in concussion protocol and forced him to miss last Sunday’s 27-20 loss to the Packers.

Suddenly, someone had hit a rewind button and everyone had been transported back seven months. It was early spring instead of late fall, it was broiling hot outside the arena walls and not freezing cold. Everyone was back at TD Garden. There were 19,156 frenzied fans on their feet begging for blood, poised for the kill.
