Jalen Brunson snubbed by Team USA with 2024 Olympics roster revealed
NY Post
Jalen Brunson was snubbed by his country.
The point guard, arguably the best player in the Eastern Conference this season — and certainly the best guard — was left off the 11-man Olympic roster revealed Monday by ESPN.
The U.S. guards are Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Booker, Jrue Holiday and Stephen Curry. Of that group, only Haliburton has yet to win a gold medal.
Brunson, who has had a better NBA season than all those players, was on the U.S. World Cup squad last summer that disappointed and failed to medal.
He was outplayed during the tournament by Haliburton, but coach Steve Kerr said recently he was “high on our list” for the Paris Olympics.
Apparently not high enough.
PHILADELPHIA — The easy thing is to feed the beast. There is some rawness and some rancor in this series now. There are some hard feelings and some hurt egos. The Knicks are a team forged by ferocity, tempered by toughness, and now there is a silly sense in the air that if they don’t get even with Joel Embiid, Corleone-style, that maybe they aren’t as stolid as we thought.
WASHINGTON — The NHL’s Public Enemy No. 1 took a seat in his stall in the back corner of the room following his team’s optional practice Saturday and drew chuckles from the assembled audience by spinning a tale about being killed 68 times in Halo by Chris Kreider following the previous night’s Game 3.
