Jack Flaherty returns to Tigers on $35 million contract in MLB free agency
NY Post
Jack Flaherty is back with the Tigers on a two-year, $35 million deal, The Post’s Jon Heyman confirmed.
The contract includes an opt-out clause after the first year and he would receive $25 million in salary and bonus this upcoming season.
If Flaherty were to opt-in for the 2026 season he would be owed $10 million with the possibility of that number jumping to $20 million if he makes 15 starts, according to the Detroit Free Press.
Flaherty seemed to all but confirm the deal on social media by posting a GIF of himself in a Tigers uniform followed by a pair of pictures — one featuring rapper Tupac Shakur in a Red Wings jersey and the other featuring members of the Pistons celebrating.
He made one more post, featuring himself in a No. 9 Tigers jersey.
Flaherty is back with the Tigers after he was traded at the deadline last year to the would-be World champion Dodgers.

Suddenly, someone had hit a rewind button and everyone had been transported back seven months. It was early spring instead of late fall, it was broiling hot outside the arena walls and not freezing cold. Everyone was back at TD Garden. There were 19,156 frenzied fans on their feet begging for blood, poised for the kill.
