Doha: Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia HE Sugiono affirmed that the aggression against Doha is unacceptable, as it represents a blatant violation of international law, the Charter of the United Nations, as well as the principles of the Charter of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
His Excellency said, in his speech during the emergency Arab-Islamic summit held in Doha today, that his country renews its commitment to achieving peace in the Middle East, praising the efforts made by the State of Qatar to promote mediation, which deserve appreciation and praise.
He also expressed Indonesia's condolences to the families of the victims, wishes for a speedy recovery to the wounded, and full solidarity with the State of Qatar.
He added that Indonesia condemns this aggression against the State of Qatar, noting that the matter is not limited to aggression targeting the sovereignty of the State of Qatar alone, but rather constitutes an attack on international peace and security, on dialogue and negotiation, and pointing out that what happened was not an isolated incident, but a continuation of a policy of impunity that has extended for decades.
His Excellency pointed out that the Palestinian issue is not a matter that concerns Palestine alone, but rather represents a matter of dignity for all the peoples and countries of the region, stressing that the summit must produce a collective response that reflects the principles of unity, and shows clear condemnation of Israeli attacks, while urging the UN Security Council to assume its responsibilities and take urgent measures to prevent the recurrence of such attacks.
