Doha, Qatar: As part of its efforts to introduce Islamic architectural art, promote intercultural dialogue, and familiarise non-Muslim communities with the country’s cultural landmarks, the Sheikh Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Cultural Islamic Center at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs organised a series of guided visits to prominent mosques across Qatar.
The tours included visits to the Imam Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab Mosque and the Minaretein Mosque in Education City, attracting a total of 64 visitors from various nationalities.
Participants were introduced to the distinctive features of mosque architecture in Qatar and explored the country’s key religious landmarks, reflecting the Center’s commitment to showcasing Islamic architectural styles, from traditional Qatari designs to modern interpretations, that embody Qatar’s cultural identity.
The visit program featured guided tours of mosque facilities, highlighting architectural details and explaining their aesthetic and functional characteristics.
Visitors were also given the opportunity to ask questions about religious rituals performed in mosques and their meanings, within an interactive environment designed to foster understanding and cultural closeness.
