IPL 2021: In the lead up to their season opener against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kolkata Knight Riders captain heaped praise on Shakib Al Hasan, saying the Bangladesh all-rounder is a welcome addition to their high-quality spin-bowling unit.

Kolkata Knight Riders captain Eoin Morgan welcomed Shakib Al Hasan's addition to the squad for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, saying a proven spin-bowling all-rounder is a big boost to the line-up, especially when playing at different venues. Eoin Morgan sounded upbeat on the eve of KKR's opening match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Chennai, talking up the likes of Shakib and Sunil Narine's presence in the set-up. Notably, Shakib Al Hasan who missed IPL 2020 due to a ban over failure to report corrupt approach was bought back by KKR for Rs Rs 3.2 crore. Notably, Shakib had represented the Sunrisers Hyderabad before returning to KKR for IPL 2021.
