Coal production up by 6.7% compared to 2019
The country's total coal production rose 6.74% to 74.78 million tonnes (MT) in December as compared to the same period in 2019, the government on Wednesday said.
Out of the total production during December last year, Coal India Ltd (CIL) achieved a growth of 3.79% by producing 60.22 MT.
"India's total coal production increased by 6.74 per cent to 74.78 MT during December 2021 as compared to the same period in 2019," the Coal Ministry said in a statement.

Insurance penetration and density are often misunderstood and do not reveal how many families are insured or whether they would be financially secure if the main earning member were to die. The real issue is not reach but adequacy, as households may have life insurance but not enough cover to replace lost income, leaving them financially vulnerable.
