Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Municipality highlighted the ongoing municipal efforts to curb the spread of insects, citing a surge in public demand for pest-control services during a recent reporting period.
According to an infographic shared by the ministry, municipalities received 10,371 requests for insect-control services between December 12, 2025 and January 15, 2026.
The figures show that the highest number of requests came from Doha Municipality (2,925), followed by Al Rayyan (2,550) and Al Daayen (1,608). Requests were also recorded in Umm Salal (1,421), Al Wakrah (1,020), Al Khor and Al Thakhira (408), Al Sheehaniya (192) and Al Shamal (147).
The ministry’s data also breaks down how residents are submitting requests.
Most were filed through the “Oun” application (6,910), while 3,290 came via the Unified Contact Centre. A smaller share, 171 requests, was submitted through the ministry’s website, underscoring the role of digital channels in routing services to municipalities.
