Hindusthn Shipyard Limited to sponsor 100 eye surgeries for poor patients of Vizianagaram district

Hindustan Shipyard Limited plans to support poor patients with avoidable blindness in North Andhra through eye surgeries and spectacles.
Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) Director (Planning and Personnel) Commodore, Rakesh Prasad, on Sunday, said that the company plans to extend its support to poor patients suffering from avoidable blindness in the North Andhra region.
After inaugurating Shankar Foundation’s eye camp in Pedamedapalli village of Mentada mandal of Vizianagaram district, Mr. Prasad said that such medical camps were beneficial for underpriviledged patients who could not afford treatment and operations.
HSL General Manager Srinivasa Rao said that the company promised to sponsor eye surgeries and spectacles to around 100 poor patients of the village.
Shankar Foundation General Manager Radha Krishnan thanked HSL for its initiative under Corporate Social Responsibility. Deputy General Manager K. Bangar Raju said that the Foundation had been organsing eye camps in several districts to ensure cataract operations for needy patients, also providing transport and other facilities for the benefit of those patients.
