Anyone hoping to drive in or out of downtown this weekend is being advised to reconsider their routes due to several highway closures.
Parts of the Don Valley Parkway (DVP) and Gardiner Expressway will be closed this weekend as construction crews complete work for Metrolinx's Ontario Line, according to the City of Toronto's website.
The work, which will be finished at 5 a.m. on Monday, will permanently move the eastern sections of the Lower Don Bridge over the DVP.
As such, the following changes are expected this weekend:
Metrolinx's notice of the closures warns drivers to expect travel delays and to plan ahead. It said work may be delayed or rescheduled if there is inclement weather.
Other closures in the city this weekend, include planned station work on Line 1.
Subway service is shuttered between St. George and St. Andrew stations starting Friday evening to Sunday. The TTC's website said shuttle buses will not be operating between the stations at that time.
