Here is everything you need to know about the new Hyundai Creta Electric

Here is everything you need to know about the new Hyundai Creta Electric

The Hyundai Creta Electric offers futuristic design, luxurious interiors, advanced safety features, and impressive driving performance.

The Creta Electric retains the strong road presence that the Creta is known for, now enhanced by modern design elements. The front end is dominated by a sleek Horizon LED light bar, which seamlessly integrates with pixel-inspired design cues to create a futuristic aesthetic. Aerodynamics play a key role, with features like active air flaps and low-resistance R17 aero alloy wheels designed to maximise efficiency.

Practical touches, such as the central charging port illuminated by a multicolour LED light to track the charging process, add a layer of sophistication. The overall look is completed by elements like a shark-fin antenna, spoiler, and sleek LED indicators, which emphasize the SUV’s contemporary appeal.

Inside, the Creta Electric impresses with a cabin that is both luxurious and sustainable. Eco-friendly upholstery, made from a blend of corn extract and recycled plastic, reflects Hyundai’s focus on reducing its environmental footprint without compromising comfort. The dual curvilinear screens dominate the dashboard, with a 10.25-inch HD infotainment system paired with a matching digital instrument cluster. Together, they provide intuitive access to navigation, entertainment, and vehicle data. Ocean Blue ambient lighting enhances the sense of space, while a floating console and integrated storage solutions contribute to the cabin’s clean, modern design.

Space has always been a strength of the Creta, and the electric version takes this further. A 2,610 mm wheelbase and scooped seat design deliver class-leading legroom in the second row. Rear passengers also benefit from two-step reclining seats and seat-back tables, making long journeys more comfortable.

Up front, an eight-way powered driver’s seat with ventilation ensure an added layer of convenience and comfort. For customers who prefer to be chauffeur driven, the Creta Electric boasts of a feature called ‘boss mode’, where the rear passenger can access two buttons located on the side of the front passenger seat and move it forward and straighten the backrest in order to free up added leg space. With 433 litres of boot space and a 22-liter frunk, the Creta Electric offers practical storage for daily errands and weekend getaways alike.

Under the hood, the Creta Electric offers two powertrain options. The more powerful version features a 51.4 kWh battery, producing 171 PS and offering a range of 473 kilometres on paper, with a real-world range closer to 390–430 kilometres. The second option, a 42 kWh battery pack with 135 PS, provides a range of 390 kilometres. The instant torque delivery typical of electric vehicles makes the Creta Electric exceptionally quick off the line, achieving 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds on the top end variant. The suspension has been carefully recalibrated to manage the additional weight of the battery while preserving the Creta’s signature ride comfort. Coupled with a planted feel on highways and light yet responsive steering, the Creta Electric delivers an engaging and confident driving experience.

A host of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) takes the Creta Electric to another level in terms of safety and convenience. Hyundai’s Smart Sense suite includes features such as Smart Cruise Control, which adjusts the vehicle’s speed to maintain a safe distance from the car ahead, and Lane Keep Assist, which gently steers the car to stay centred in its lane. Lane Departure Warning alerts the driver if the car begins to drift out of its lane without signalling, while Forward Collision Warning can detect potential obstacles ahead and prompt the driver to take action. These features make the Creta Electric a reassuring companion on long drives and in busy urban environments.
