Hamilton police are investigating a break and enter at the Ibrahim Jame mosque that took place over the weekend.
Police say a man broke into the mosque at roughly 2 a.m. on Jan. 14.
Jackie Penman, a spokesperson with Hamilton police, said a small amount of valuables were stolen. She didn't offer more details.
Police describe the person as a white man wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and winter boots.
Police are asking the public to help identify the suspect and say anyone with information should contact the service.
This comes eight days after the mosque received a bomb threat. Representatives of the mosque called the incident "disturbing and concerning," especially in light of an arson attack on the mosque in 2016.
"At this time, we know that many may be deeply concerned and worried," a statement read. It also urged people "not to speculate and to allow the investigation to unfold."
