More than halfway through Georgia's 2026 legislative session, take a look at the bills that have made it through.
Georgia state legislatures are more than a month into their 40-day stay under the Gold Dome, and a busy election year may have drawn focus away from the day-to-day operations inside the capitol.
But lawmakers have been chugging away at a lengthy docket, focusing on issues from state budgets to cell phones in schools.
Here's a look at some of the issues lawmakers have taken on this year.
After votes from both the House and Senate, HB 973 which outlines the fiscal budget is heading to Governor Brian Kemp's desk this week.
"The Amended FY26 budget will provide $2 billion in income tax and property tax relief, endow the first state needs-based scholarship of its kind, make historic investments in transportation, and much more," Kemp said in a post on X Wednesday.
