Both gold and silver are trading on the lower side of the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on Thursday, February 17, 2022.
Witnessing a marginal drop of Rs 36 or 0.07 per cent, gold futures maturing on April 5, 2022, are retailing at Rs 49,595 per 10 grams on the MCX.
Meanwhile, the rate of silver futures, maturing on March 4, 2022, stood at Rs 63,082 per kg, recording a drop of 0.43 per cent or Rs 274.
Notably, the prices of gold and silver stood at Rs 49,618 per 10 grams and Rs 63,299 per kg respectively when the market closed on February 16.
As per Reuters, gold steadied on Thursday, nearing an eight-month high touched earlier this week, as the U.S. dollar and Treasury yields dipped on less hawkish-than-feared Federal Reserve minutes with Ukraine crisis boosting demand for the safe-haven metal.
As per the latest metal report, spot gold held its ground at $1,868.36 per ounce. Meanwhile, U.S. gold futures were steady at $1,871.40.
Among other precious metals, spot silver was flat at $23.54 per ounce .
