Goddess Padmavati blesses devotees from Kalpavriksha Vahanam during Kartheeka Brahmotsavam at Tiruchanur temple.
Dressed as Sri Rajamannar, Goddess Padmavati blessed the devotees from under the Kalpavriksha Vahanam (wish fulfilling tree).
On the fourth day of the annual Kartheeka Brahmotsavam at the Tiruchanur temple, the processional idol of Goddess Padmavati was taken in a grand procession around the temple in Kalpavriksha Vahanam.
Dressed as the protector of all living beings, the goddess under the shade of the mythological tree is believed to fulfill the wishes of the devout who gather at the shrine to witness the grand celestial spectacle.
Pedda Jeeyangar, Chinna Jeeyangar, Executive Officer J. Syamala Rao, Joint EO V. Veerabrahmam, Chief Vigilance and Security Officer S. Sridhar and Deputy EO C. Govindarajan took part in the procession.
Artistes representing various cultural troupes donned impressive attire and performed different dance forms in front of the procession on the fourth day.
Braving the incessant rain, the artistes performed Peacock dance, Pot dance, Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam and Kolatam, besides portraying the role of different mythological characters. A total of 238 artistes representing 10 troupes participated on Sunday morning.
In the evening, the deity was taken on Hanumantha Vahanam, a celestial carrier representing Hanuman, in a procession witnessed by thousands of devotees.
