
Giants’ Cam Skattebo relishing chance to show he can thrive in NFL

It is one of those queries that first-year players hear quite often as they embark on a new chapter of their football life:
You were so good as a college player. So, how do you continue to work as if you have not accomplished all that you have?
Cam Skattebo did not hesitate. He seemed to relish the opportunity to wade into this one.
“How many snaps of the NFL have you seen me play?’’ the rookie running back said, answering a question with a question. “Zero, right? I’ve proved nothing. I’ve proved what I am in college, but I’ve proved nothing at this level.

Almost a year to the day after a goaltender interference call against Kyle Palmieri lost the Islanders a game against the Blue Jackets that started their season’s death spiral, they were on the wrong end of another controversial call against those same Blue Jackets that might have had the same effect.
