The White House responded to Newsom's jab with searing words.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) trolled President Donald Trump with a hair-raising dig during his Tuesday State of the Union address in the House chamber.
In an X post, Newsom, who made several digs at the commander in chief online as he appeared to watch the address, delivered theatrical revulsion over the disheveled appearance of the 79-year-old president’s hair.
“Oh no, Donald,” the Democratic governor, 58, wrote. “You need some of my hair gel!!!”
The White House didn’t immediately respond to HuffPost’s requests for comment.
Trump hasn’t appeared to respond to the California governor’s jab publicly, but the White House told The Daily Beast in a comment that Newsom “should shut his filthy mouth and apologize to Black people for demeaning them earlier this week.”
The podcaster's spot-on impersonation left the head of Canada's Conservative Party, Pierre Poilievre, laughing.
