Mick Mulvaney said Trump is "in the files" but said if the evidence made the president look bad, the Biden White House would have released it.
Mick Mulvaney, who served as President Donald Trump’s chief of staff towards the end of his first term, has a theory on why the president has started insisting the Jeffrey Epstein case is “a hoax.”
He thinks it’s because it isn’t a hoax at all.
“He’s in the files. A lot of people are in the files,” Mulvaney told the Al Jazeera news network in a forthcoming interview that was teased online Thursday.
However, Mulvaney doesn’t think anything in the so-called Epstein files will connect the president to the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender for a very simple reason.
“If there was something in the files that was particularly damning about Donald Trump, the files would have been released by the Biden administration,” Mulvaney said.
