Former Superman Dean Cain Says New Superman Movie Made This 1 Brutal Mistake

The conservative actor revealed what he thinks will sour James Gunn’s new film for moviegoers.
Former Superman Dean Cain is taking aim at James Gunn’s interpretation of the character in the new film based on the eponymous DC superhero.
In an interview this week, the conservative actor, who starred as the cape-wearing hero on “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman” from 1993 to 1997, complained that he thinks Gunn has made the character too “woke” due to today’s political climate.
“How woke is Hollywood going to make this character?” he told TMZ in a video clip. “How much is Disney going to change their Snow White? Why are they going to change these characters [to] exist for the times? For Superman, it was ‘truth, justice and the American way.’ Well, they dropped that … They came up with ‘truth, justice and a better tomorrow.’ Changing beloved characters I don’t think is a great idea.”
Cain, who endorsed Trump “100%” in the 2024 election, appeared to be referencing the controversy over Disney’s live-action remake of Snow White. The film, which was released in March, sparked discourse on social media over the casting of Rachel Zegler, a Latina actress, as Snow White as well as adjustments to the story’s narrative and characters, including the seven dwarfs.
“The ‘American way’ is immigrant-friendly, tremendously immigrant-friendly. But there are rules. You can’t come in saying, ‘I want to get rid of all the rules in America, because I want it to be more like Somalia,’” Cain continued. “Well, that doesn’t work, because you had to leave Somalia to come here … it doesn’t make any sense.”
