
Food packets distributed to 500 people

Lions Clubs International Chennai conducts projects on World Service Day, including food distribution and eye screening for the needy.
On the occasion of World Service Day, various projects were conducted by The Lions Clubs International Chennai on Tuesday. During the event, food packets were provided to 500 poor people and a free eye screening camp was also conducted where over 200 persons got their eyes tested. First vice district governor Ln. M. Praveenlal, district chairperson for the welfare of differently-abled persons Ln. Gopinath and others participated in the programme.

The procedure of endoscopic removal of stone and blockage from the bile duct, followed by placement of Common Bile Duct (CBD) stent, widely practised in leading medical institutions and private hospitals, was performed for the first time at Government Thoothukudi Medical College and Hospital on a 10-year-old girl.
