
Florida professor finds evidence that ancient Egyptians drank hallucinogenic cocktails

One of the few existing Egyptian Bes mugs was investigated to discover its use. It was found through chemical analysis that the mug once held a psychedelic concoction used in ancient rituals.
Research into the rare mug began in 2021, USF professor Davide Tanasi told Fox News Digital via email. Ashlyn Messier is a writer for Fox News Digital.
These mugs displayed the head of Bes, according to the press release.
