MELAKA – A 44-year-old female soldier has been sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment by the Sessions Court in Ayer Keroh, Melaka, after pleading guilty to sexually abusing her own son.
Judge Raja Noor Adilla Raja Mahyaldin handed down the sentence after the accused pleaded guilty on March 17.
The offence took place at a house in Taman Peruna, Sungai Udang, Melaka Tengah district, at about 10.30pm in late December 2024.
She was charged under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, read together with Section 16(1) of the same Act.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Nor Asnini Kamarudin appeared for the prosecution, while the accused was unrepresented.
In mitigation, the accused, who is also a single mother, pleaded for a lighter sentence, saying she needed to support her three children after completing her prison term.
