FBI to be under harsh new microscope as Stefanik scores victory in annual defense bill

A Republican provision in the defense bill would require FBI to notify congressional leaders within 15 days of launching counterintelligence investigations against federal candidates.

An exception would be granted if one of those people was the target of such a probe, however.
