Fans Say U.S. Hockey Women Already Beat The Men's McDonald's Meal At White House

"The women are the winners here," one observer said.
While mockery simmered over U.S. men’s hockey team members eating McDonald’s at the White House this week, some observers claimed victory for the U.S. women because their players dined with actor Stanley Tucci at the Milan Cortina Olympics.
“The US women’s hockey team got a fancy meal in Milan with Stanley Tucci,” one person wrote. “The Men’s Team got McDonalds in the White House with a dictator. The women are the winners here.”
The women, apparently fresh off an early victory at the Games, dined with the “Hunger Games” star and cookbook author at a restaurant listed in the Michelin guide as NBC’s cameras rolled.
A snippet shared on Feb. 9 showed the chef bringing out a risotto dish while conversation bubbled.
The women, who like the men defeated rival Canada in overtime for the gold, turned down a Donald Trump offer to visit him after he belittled them. While inviting the men to the White House and State of the Union address, he snarked that he’d also have to invite the women or he’d be impeached.
