India’s economy needs a strong manufacturing push as the nation’s dominant services sector struggles to return to normalcy after two deadly waves of the Covid-19 pandemic. The country has huge untapped potential to become a global manufacturing hub, but economic growth has been largely driven mainly by the services sector growth for decades. In contrast, growth in manufacturing has been abysmal despite the availability of cheap labour and other resources.
