Essex County, Chatham-Kent and Sarnia-Lambton school buses cancelled — but not Windsor
CBC
School buses will not be on the road Wednesday morning in Essex County and other parts of southwestern Ontario due to poor road conditions in the region after overnight wintry weather.
However, that’s not the case in Windsor where a lot of the snow has melted as the temperature quickly rose above the freezing mark. Transportation officials say buses in the city will be picking up and dropping off students as usual in the morning.
Buses are also cancelled in all zones across the Chatham-Kent and Sarnia-Lambton system, according to transportation officials.
On Tuesday, Environment Canada said as much as 10 centimetres of snow was possible in Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent — where advisories remain in place. They're expected to be lifted in the afternoon.
In Sarnia-Lambton, snowfall amounts could be higher, according to the weather agency. A snowfall warning is still in effect there with amounts possibly reaching as high as 20 centimetres.
