Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a yellow rainfall and wind warning for Windsor-Essex.
A Yellow alert usually means hazardous weather that may cause damage, disruption, or health impacts.
Heavy rain is expected with frozen ground conditions as the rain won’t be absorbed very quickly. Up to 60 millimetres of rain, with the possibility for more, is expected Sunday with an anticipated end overnight.
The rain may be freezing briefly, before changing to rain. The rain will become heavy at times through the afternoon into evening with little ice accretion expected, according to Environment Canada.
Localized flooding and the risk for a few isolated thunderstorms is also possible.
Wind gusts are expected to be up to 80 to 90 km/h, beginning Monday.
Hydro outages are possible, as well as property damage.
